Sourdough Pizza Crust
First time ever making sourdough pizza and it was π§βπ³π
The crust was amazing you all! Like this video doesnβt do it justice! Will and I both gave it 5βοΈ! If you have your own sourdough starter, save this recipe!
Sourdough pizza π:
1 cup sourdough discard
2 cups 00 flour (Italian blend known for being easier on the stomach); bread flour will work too here, same ratio
3/4 cup water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
Combine the ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead 4-5 times until combined (be careful not to over knead). Form dough into a ball and place in olive oil lined bowl.
Cover and let rise for 4+ hours (overnight is best)
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Bake for 10-15 minutes without toppings and then top and bake for another 8-12 minutes (or until bubbly cheese and browned crust). When shaping your crust, puncture the middle with a fork a few times everywhere except the crust you want to rise on the outer edge of your dough. Just enough to allow the bubbles to collapse but not enough that your toppings can get through.
Topping of choice tonight:
Red sauce (unsweetened primal kitchen is great)
Basil paste
Oregano
Cashew mozzarella
Shredded chicken (and lots of it lol - we needed to use it up + yay for protein)
Balsamic and olive oil drizzle to finish with a few red pepper flakes!
